You have arranged a delivery to your home. However, there are some problems with the delivery.
Complain to the manager of the express company.

Dear manager,
This is a complaint letter regarding the inferior quality of your service provided to me for one of my parcels.
A parcel which belongs to me was sent from Mexico and it was not delivered to my premises until 2 weeks later after its departure from origin. This is not in line with your previous promise of prompt delivery within only 4 working days. This severe delay has caused tremendous inconvenience to my life and brought misunderstandings to the sender to whom I have to explain with hard efforts.
Another issue that has to be mentioned is that the package was damaged upon delivery. Although it was not serious, it is adding insult to injury. The content which is a small electronic gadget has to be fixed and there are some extra costs for that because of the fact that the damage does not apply to the terms of warranty.
I hereby request your company to provide a formal letter of explanation to detail the exact reason for the delay. In addition, I would like your side to bear the repair cost thereof.

Many people think we will live considerably better in the next 100 years while others disagree. What's your opinion?
Our modern society has undergone unprecedented changes which have not been witnessed in any period of previous history. A large proportion of people hold that our life will undoubtedly become even better in the next century while some others argue the opposite. From my own perspective, it is an undisputable fact that our living standards will rise dramatically in the future.
It is universally known that one of the foundations of prosperity is peace. Despite of the cruel situation in which there are still a large number of military conflicts and warfare, peaceful development and democracy remain as the mainstream of the vast majority of different countries. With steady development and good governance, it is obvious that the lives of citizens will improve significantly as times goes.
Another major factor is the huge advancement of technology. The last 100 years have seen the greatest evolvement in terms of high-tech throughout the human history with the birth of computers as well as internet. Even the latest smartphones and tablet PC’s play a pivotal role in the changing of our lifestyle, let alone rockets and spacecrafts that sent astronauts to the outer space.
Most importantly, the inner distinct of the human race is to strive for a better world and that is the very reason why we can survive for millions of years. Regardless of the skin colours or the nationalities of the people, we have always done whatever we can do perfect the way we live and it is evident the living conditions are increasingly being improved.
On the other side, it is true that many hold a pessimistic point of view about the future due to the possible exploitation of advanced technology such as the invention of nuclear warheads and human cloning. They believe the most intelligent creatures in the world would bring everything into dust along with a major catastrophe. However, they have ignored one key point which shows the superpowers in the world will do whatever they can do avoid such disaster from happening for the mere reason of their own survival. Thus this point of view cannot gain ground.
In spite of the negative forecast of the future from a small fringe of people, I firmly submit to the notion that our life will be transformed into a almost utopian state with state-of-the-art technology and highly efficient governments in the coming century as long as we can make colossal efforts in the great cause of the human being.
